Investments to Improve Quality of Life and Foster Growth

RALEIGH, N.C. – Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced that communities across the state will receive more than $253 million in funding through various initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, boosting economic development, and enhancing public services.

“These investments will help strengthen our communities and make North Carolina an even better place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Governor Cooper. “By investing in infrastructure, economic development, and public services, we are building a more prosperous and equitable future for all North Carolinians.”

The funding will be allocated as follows:

  • $100 million for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, which supports infrastructure projects in low- to moderate-income communities.
  • $50 million for the Golden LEAF Foundation, which provides grants and investments to promote economic development and improve the quality of life in rural areas of North Carolina.
  • $40 million for the Connect NC Bond Program, which supports broadband infrastructure projects in underserved areas.
  • $30 million for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, which provides loans to local governments for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • $20 million for the Public Transportation Division, which supports public transportation systems across the state.
  • $13 million for the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, which provides affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income families.

These investments reflect Governor Cooper's commitment to creating a stronger, more resilient, and more equitable North Carolina for all.
