Florida Weather: Tornadoes, Flooding, and Severe Storms
Tornados Touch Down in South Florida
Severe weather swept through South Florida on Tuesday, bringing with it tornadoes, flooding, and high winds. The National Weather Service confirmed at least three tornadoes touched down in Broward and Miami-Dade counties, causing damage to homes and businesses.
Flooding and Wind Damage
In addition to the tornadoes, the storm also brought heavy rainfall, leading to widespread flooding. Several roads were closed due to high water, and some homes and businesses were evacuated. Winds gusting up to 55 mph also caused damage to trees and power lines.
Tornado Watch and Warnings
As of Wednesday morning, a tornado watch remains in effect for parts of South Florida. The National Weather Service urges residents to remain weather-aware and to take shelter immediately if a tornado warning is issued for their area.
